Go to Getting StartedThe European School of Physiotherapy study programme lasts 3 years. You follow theoretical and practical courses, clinical internships and research projects. Each course links knowledge, skills and attitude goals to patient cases. This way you integrate all aspects into your professional behaviour.
In year 1 you complete all courses. The main goal is to give you a clear impression of the programme and the profession. You finish the year with a clinical internship in the summer.
In year 2 you work on large research projects in groups. You also follow theoretical and practical courses in more depth. Two internships give you the chance to apply your knowledge and skills in different settings.
In year 3 you complete a minor, a professional assignment project (thesis) and your final internship. You also follow special courses. The programme finishes with an official graduation ceremony.
To be admitted to ESP you need to have completed secondary education equivalent to Dutch VWO level and have strong written and verbal English skills. This means an English language proficiency of 6.5 score or higher at the IELTS test.
The ESP programme is demanding. In the first year you have 24 contact hours per week. Next to that, you spend about 29 hours on projects, research, assignments and self-study for classes or exams.
In addition to the annual tuition fees for ESP, you must also cover several extra study-related costs.
